We have revolutionized parts of our industries in which we operate, here are a few examples:
First to design and build 100% stainless steel hoppers to eliminate corrosion which eliminates the need to rebuild and consume materials unnecessarily.
First to apply harvest technologies to planting season by dropping trailers for unloading eliminating 1.5 hours of truck idle time and wasted personnel time.
Hauling for a fortune 50 company by raising the average load weight from 47,000 pounds to 57,000 pounds on a daily basis. The advantage effect; less traffic, higher safety returns, and less energy consumed per pound of product moved.
Utilization of new manufacturing technologies
- 1989 first utilized the hub piloted wheel technologies which eliminates the possibility of breaking inner studs and losing the tires and wheels.
- 1997 switched to 10 speed transmissions to alleviate the lugging of the engines which in turn decreased the amount of fuel not burned cleanly.
- 2004 first to utilize the wide base tire technologies which have a lower rolling resistance and less impact to our highways higher fuel economy, currently one of larger users of this technology in N. California.
- 2006 all new purchased tractors utilizing auto shift transmissions which remove the shifting parameters from the human aspect; this enables us to enjoy some of the highest fuel mileages attainable in the industry. Utilization of aerodynamic technologies in tractor and trailer design to obtain premium fuel economies.
- 2007 engine emission technologies we currently operate 16% of our fleet and we are the ONLY fleet in N. California to be granted funding under the goods movement for low emission tractors which will raise Button Transportation, Inc. to 33% low emission fleet, again an industry leader.
